Early in my journey of motherhood it was easy for me to feel as though I didn’t have enough time to make progress on my goals. One goal being actively working on the Wellthy & Relaxed brand. Jordan helped me realize that I don’t have to have all the time in the world in order to make progress. If I only have 10-30 minutes of free time to devote to a task that will push the needle forward, and that is enough. Progress is progress. Plus there have been so many times in my life where I had plenty of time, but still didn’t get things done.
Maybe having less time will be good for me because it forces me to remove distractions, focus on the task at hand, and knock it out within that small window of time. So often we get caught up in our thoughts with a list of reasons why we can’t make something happen, and you know how the saying goes: “whatever you choose to believe you are absolutely right.”
What I found to be true is that you find a way to make things happen if you truly want to make them happen. In the beginning, I couldn’t see how I could carve out time for this brand. As a result, it made it impossible for me to take action. Once I opened up my mind to the idea that if I started breaking down the goals I wanted to achieve, then carving out dedicated time a few days a week towards those tasks, progress would be within my grasp. So much so that I’m currently on the couch writing this email, while baby girl is napping beside me. So yes, it is possible!
Is there a goal that you’ve been passionate about working on that you’ve been putting off? How could you make progress on that goal today or this week? If you had 10 minutes of free time to work towards that goal, what task towards that goal could you fit in 10 minutes? Where in your day could you carve out that 10 minutes for yourself? You might surprise yourself by how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time, when you are focused and determined.
In our latest video I’m sharing a few more tips on how you can adjust your routine when you’re in a new season.
